Tell me, love, who am I fighting for?
On the one hand, I am tired to the point where I want a refund on the entire concept of sleep and trying to write about a movie with a head full of tapioca—both mine and the movie's, really. On the other hand,
spatch just presented me with the Kino Lorber Blu-Ray of the legendarily queer Technicolor noir Desert Fury (1947), which I have wanted to see for pre-pandemic ages, and I am enjoying the local hibiscus.

That is a hell of a sexy flower!
and I look forward to your thoughts on Desert Fury at your own pace

Thank you! Emphasis appreciated.

There was a whole yard of them, glowing in the light under the clouds.

I would love to see the art that comes of it.

I will wait without expectation and approve of the morganite.

It's eleven feet and five inches of beaded artistic reaction to that hibiscus photo. It's called "the art that comes of it". And it has morganite, other beryl, lots of pink opalite glass, and a whole bunch of Swarovski crystal beads now ungettable.
I just have to count up the beads and calculate the price, which is going to be a truly frightening number. (See also "a whole bunch of Swarovski crystal beads now ungettable.")
I'll be back here with a link once the counting, figuring, and uploading is done.

It sounds spectacular!

It lives up to its billing. And it's very hibiscus.

It was an honor.

I'm so glad to hear it! Thank you for letting me know. May they be happy together.

Here's to restful sleep for you, sometimes soon. Tonight even, if it's not to much to ask, universe!

That's so nice! I am not sure I ever took particular notice of them before, but they are all over this neighborhood.

Much appreciated!

That's a gorgeous flower and yay for the blu-ray!

I was almost 100% sure that I hadn't seen "Desert Fury", so I looked it up, and it's *yet* another example of a movie I saw with a wildly different title and never knew the original one! It's been quite a while since I saw it, so I didn't remember that it was in Technicolor! XD I do remember that John Hodiak was great in it... and it was probably one of the first movies that first made me notice Wendell Corey (after "The indiscrete window", and the one where he and Montgomery Clift co-parent a little boy! <3
ETA: I meant "Rear window", not "Indiscrete window", of course--my English apparently signed off for the weekend! XD And "Desert Fury" was called something like "The daughter of sin" in the version I saw. And the movie where Wendell Corey and Montgomery Clift co-parent a little boy is called "The search", but the dubbed version called it "The lost angels".

Thank you! I have cats also.

No worries! I could detect which movies you were talking about. I hadn't remembered that Wendell Corey was in The Search, which I felt so strongly about when I saw it for the first time in 2018 that I have failed to write about it ever since, but when I rewatched it this spring: "You know, we're a couple of fools, behaving like that in front of the kid. Are we trying to raise him right or aren't we?"
I am looking forward to Desert Fury for a lot of reasons, but I appreciate knowing John Hodiak could be one of them; I have never seen him in a movie where he really jumped out at me.

If you ever write about "The Search", I'd love to read it. I watched it with my sister, who's a huge Montgomery Clift fan, ages ago, and we were really touched by it! <3
I also look forward to your thoughts about "Desert fury", I don't want to say anything more here because of spoilers! And I could be wrong, because it's also been ages since I saw it, but I remember liking John Hodiak in "Somewhere in the night" (I am now probably going to check every single movie I mention, so I don't f*** up the titles, haha!)

I have never seen that film, but what a cast!
Wishing you better sleep.

Thank you!
I have never seen that film, but what a cast!
I read about it years ago, it never seemed to play TCM or any of the local theaters, and with profound injustice it came around on the Criterion Channel last summer while I was living with my parents and couldn't watch anything. It's always had something of the film maudit aura where I'm amazed it exists on home video at all, but I'm not complaining.
Wishing you better sleep.
And thank you!

People around here like them a lot! I'm seeing multiple kinds now that I'm looking for them. They must be in season.

(I looked up whether or not you can get a refund on the entire concept of sleep, but I think it's just one of those they make you put on the store card and then you just have to spend it on the same thing, you know how it goes. ♥)

Thank you, although I can take no credit for the flower itself!
[edit] Your icon reminds me that I just gave my niece the complete collected Flower Fairies, since she was always reading my childhood Flower Fairies of the Seasons. It seems to be going over well, even when she doesn't recognize the plants.
I looked up whether or not you can get a refund on the entire concept of sleep, but I think it's just one of those they make you put on the store card and then you just have to spend it on the same thing, you know how it goes.
I was afraid that was what it said in the fine print.

Aww! And, I mean, she'll be very up on plant identification if she ever gets to the UK.

Is the link to the seller
spatch used?
no subject
Yes. Ordering direct from the website produced a disc on our front porch in less than a week.

(Reason for edit probably also very awkward nested grammar of original question)

There's a hibiscus next to my front door, though not so ecstatically pink as this one.

Say hi to it from me nonetheless!

It is a lovely hibiscus, and I hope the entire concept of sleep stops being refund-worthy soon. <3
