Apparently everybody was humming/playing John Roberts & Tony Barrand yesterday. (My family are devotees of an old and obscure album of theirs called "To Welcome In The Spring," the first track of which is a setting [I presume from the Oxford Book of Carols] of Herrick's "Candlemas Eve", which we were playing, for obvious reasons, yesterday as we took down the last of the Christmas decorations. We've informed Peter that it's his birthday song.)

It's time, falling out of the sky like snow: touch and gone. Except now, when it lies around in heaps and nothing can get done.
