sovay: (Lord Peter Wimsey: passion)
Today in the mail, I received:

1. The manuscript of Nancy Hightower's The Acolyte, forthcoming from Port Yonder Press.

2. Contributor's copies of King David and the Spiders from Mars (ed. Tim Lieder, Dybbuk Press), containing my story "Moving Nameless" and six more I'm looking forward to reading. I like being in an anthology with a Caravaggio cover.

3. A letter from Massachusetts Health Connector informing me that because their website is buggy and my current health insurance comes to a short sharp stop at the end of March, I have been enrolled in a form of temporary coverage through June so that I don't have to languish either sick or broke while they sort out their website and get around to processing my application for new health insurance. Actually, I appreciate this immensely.

Following this rather excellent haul, I walked first to Evelyn & Angel's with [livejournal.com profile] derspatchel to cash in our free drink cards for hot chocolate and then to dinner at Bartley's, where we hadn't been since before Christmas. (Their close-packed tables were not negotiable on crutches.) I think I'm supposed to feel morally weird about ordering a TSA Burger, but it had horseradish cheddar and cole slaw on it, so I was fine. The sky was warm setting afternoon, mild and breezy, a bright moon waxing. I could even leave my gloves off as we walked back to the trains. And now I am falling-over tired before eleven at night, so I'm going to shower.
