The city put itself together

Rabbit, rabbit! I was decoyed by the chill in the house when I woke up into not dressing for the sun-flooding spring outside. The streets are full of students in T-shirts. The trees are beginning to bud in colors I recognize. I went for a shot of this magnolia and was photobombed by a telephone pole.

Today was the warmest day we've had in Los Angeles in awhile. I love that photo--it looks like the telephone pole is cosplaying the magnolia.

Today was the warmest day we've had in Los Angeles in awhile.

I'm not sure if it was our warmest day so far this year, but it was the warmest day that felt like it should be this warm: real spring, not the uncanny counterfeit. It smells like things growing, even at night. I'm waiting to find out if we have cherry trees here, too. (I'm hoping.)

I love that photo--it looks like the telephone pole is cosplaying the magnolia.

I like that interpretation a lot!
