I guess that's part of the intention of the film, the contrast between lofty goals and very real prices paid. But the way you describe her falling in with his pretense ... what a shame they don't have more years together!

You're welcome! I found a cache of them last spring and have referred to them whenever possible, although some of the films about which I am most curious do not have files online. They tend to be individually fascinating and collectively can induce rage.
